get me the hell outta here!
12/5/09

What up 'erbody! As usual, I've become terrible at keeping this thing updated, but what ya gonna do? So here's the latest...we've begun yet again on our cd. It's movin slowly, but moving forward none the less. Matt is sick! For our "E" songs he knocked out 5 of the 8 in the 1st take! WTF! Kick ass! So now, we're beginning the strings and tryin to kick this sucker into overdrive. I was hoping we'd get done and be able to have our cd release party on my birthday 12/26, but looks like it ain't in the stars as they say. Now, it's probably gonna be January or February when we finally get this bad sombitch done. So, that's all that's goin on now. As always keep yer eyes on the MySpace, that's got the most recent info, but make sure you check back here for the bigger updates.

And again, I would like to say thank you to all you Gringos and Gringo-ets out there still representing for us. We appreciate ya'll to the end!

September 5th , 2009

I used to be so guud about keepin up w/ this thing, but now I suck. At any rate the MySpace is about as updated, as far as the shows go, as anything so there ya go. Use this as your supplement Gringo info. As always alot has happened since last I wrote: lost a drummer, brought back an old one, decided to scratch our recording and re-record, played some hellatious shows, toured, jumped in to an alternative project (Ten Ton Hammer), and all the other work and family business that goes along w/ livin in this world. So to live in the present and not in the past we've got a show this Friday at Fitz, yeah it's 9/11. Kickin ass lineup, fo sho! A few other shows goin on next month, but come November we're jumpin back in the studio to complete this dang'd ol cd of ours. Yes, there are a 1/2 dozen demos out there, but this is gonna be the real deal. Well, rock and roll may have another plan for us, but that's our idea. Hmph.

I wanna say thanks for all the support for the last 10 years. You out there make it all worth while. There is no greater joy than to see ya'lls faces at the shows gettin off to what we do. Keep it up. We love you!

It's been a while Gringos! We've been busy as all get out gettin ready for the recording we are currently working on. Tracy "Duckie" is behind the board again. This is gonna be the big one ya'll! Last night we got done w/ tracking the drums so we'll be switchin gears Sunday. We played the Body Art Expo at the Reliant Center a couple weeks ago if ya'll didn't know. The schedule got a little jacked up, but we threw down and tore it up as usual, I got inked. Thanks to er'body who came out to that one. It was great to meet all ya'll. There'll be some pics up soon of that. Cory from Skinworks Tattoo Shop from Shreveport, LA did a hellofa job. We've done a few benefits, which are always fun to do. We'll probably have a similar event soon. The Neveready cooking team did the honors on the grub. Paaaaauuul! Awesome job!

There is a side project coming soon to a stage near you if I wasn't busy enough. Keep yer ears to the ground!

Interview from 12/5/08 at PJ's Sports Bar w/ Mason James Courtney

Mason Courtney: Tell everybody about the history of the band. It's probably gotta be with you right?

El Jefe: Yes sir eh, 1999, blah-blah-blah, yakity-schmackity, members been, members been gone. This band has been the thing that has brought this whole movement to where it is. Skip is on his second tour w/ us, which is fuckin phenomenal. He's now doin his thing.

Other than that we've been together for 2yrs right now. (Actually it's more like 3 and ½. I'm really bad about timeframes. And there have been many lineup changes, but this line up has been around for a while now and we are getting our groove together. It's been a long time since this type of situation has happened, but it's never been this heavy. It's a great collaboration between all of our parts. 1 of 5, 1 of 5, 1 of 5, 1 of 5, 1 of 5 equals 5 of 5. That is what it takes. No egos, no machismo, none of that bullshit. Just 5 dudes wanting to have a good time and rock peoples' faces off.)

MC: Introduce the band to us as to who is who.

El Jefe: So we got Skip, he's on his second tour. He's probably been w/ us a little over a year, all together. .. Troy and Grady have been together about the same time. ( Actually, about 3 and ½ yrs)

Skip: They're a couple! (laughs)

El Jefe: Not really a couple. (laughs) Not legally.

Gabe: Not in Texas.

El Jefe: But yeah, the fucked up thing is they've been band mates before, years ago. A couple of times, and then all of a sudden…Gabe. Actually one time I called Gabe…

Gabe: At band camp?

El Jefe: No fuck that. I called Gabe asking him about a bass player to play in the band. And he's like, "well yeah I play bass". And I'm like, "yeah, I know but you're busy". And he's like, "no I play bass". Well, next thing you know after that conversation Gabe was THE bass player, and we have since become a unit of unstoppable force.

Gabe: Believe it or not, we started here.

Troy: Yeah, that's right!

El Jefe: We played here like 3yrs ago.

Gabe: No, no, no. I actually asked them…

Troy: He saw us play here w/ another bass player, here at the same type thing.

Gabe: I actually asked them to come play. I had a birthday party up here…

Troy: Yeah, at PJ's Sports Bar. "plug" (laughs)

El Jefe: PJ's Sports bar! What the fuck? (laughs)

Gabe: I came here about 2yrs ago and I had a birthday party. I asked these guys and my brother's band to play and at the time I was just out to have a good time, and I saw these guys play. It's a little ironic now that I'm playing at the same fuckin time now.

El Jefe: Another birthday party!

Gabe: And another birthday party at the same place.

MC: Very nice. Very nice. (laughs)

Gabe: For the record I'd like to say that Troy's gay. (laughs)

Troy: I like pussy.

Skip: Oka-ay.

MC: So, okay? So as a band, a cohesive unit, who would be your main influences?

Troy: Slayer.

MC: You can have more than one…

Skip: Some Minor Threat.

Grady: Lamb of God.

Gabe: Massive Attack.

El Jefe: For me it's Clutch and Pantera. That's all there is to it.

MC: So it's seems randomly out of order, but it's been pre-planned, what do you think about the current state of the music industry?

Troy: Sucks.

El Jefe: Bunch of crap. Bunch of all these…

Grady: Rubbish.

El Jefe: Yeah.

Troy: All the kids look like fags now. (laughs)

El Jefe: I mean, it's all about image and it's all about, you know, throwin out the next big thing. Which is uh, ya know everyone jumps on the same fuckin band wagon and I'm fuckin sick of it. I just feel like for us, what we do is, and again with my influence Pantera. They bucked the system. You know what I'm sayin? They did, they said, "you know what, this may not be the most popular thing", but they're gonna fuckin do it to the fuckin tilt. And they went to the highest level. Not that we'll ever do that, but still we're doin it the same way.

MC: Okay, so genre of music do ya'll guys fit into in that industry?

Troy: Stoner-rock.

El Jefe: Genre?

Grady: Punk-Metal.

Troy: Hey look I'm smoking a joint.

El Jefe: What?

Troy: I'M SMOKIN A JOINT! (laughs)

El Jefe: I don't know, I hate the whole genre thing. I don't wanna put us in a category.

MC: Hey you asked the question mutherfucker, don't make me…(laughs). So what do you guys like most about playing the band? What do you like most about being a PincheGringo?

Gabe: I like playing bass.

Grady: I just like jamming.

Troy: I like it loud.

El Jefe: I must say, that this all that I do other than work, and with the family. So for me it is and epic…60, 50% of my entire being, of what I do.

Grady: That's deep man. (laughs)

El Jefe: Yeah, it's deep. I appreciate ya. Anyway…

MC: So what's your subject matter? I mean, what story are you trying to tell?

El Jefe: I just think for me it's…

Grady: PAAAAAARTY!!!!!! (laughs)

Gabe: We have a little game, it's called…

The entire band: LET'S GET SHITTY!!!!!!! (laughs)

Gabe: That's pretty much it. I mean, there's really no subject matter. Most of the subject matter actually comes from Aaron as for as, like the lyrics. We just kinda put the music behind to what he's trying to portray, man.

Troy: It's about havin fun, man.

El Jefe: I think that. I mean, definitely havin fun and I mean, enjoying life, but also there's that battle between yourself and your every day as far as, ya know, there are decisions that you make every day. Small ones big ones, you know, that make the person that you are. And I think THAT, is what defines us as far as our message. Have a good time, but don't be shit-head about it.

MC: So how would you guys want to be remembered as a band?

Troy: The coolest.

MC: Cause I'm about to kill you mutherfuckers. (laughs)

Gabe: For me personally, more like a southern-Texas-rock band. Just going out there and havin a good time, drinkin it up. Havin a good time. Yeah, one of our songs, it says it, it's Borracho.

Grady: Just have fun.

El Jefe: All I gotta say on that note is…we, no, we did it our way, you know. I mean, fuck'em.

Troy: We're just out there showin everybody how we do it.

El Jefe: Fuck'em. Fuck whatever's popular. Fuck everybody else. You know, we come up there, we don't give a shit about what we wear, what we look like, we just do our thing.

MC: Okay, so any pre-show rituals?

Gabe: No country.

Troy: Get fucked up.

Gabe: I mean, we all love country, well most of us. We have a superstition, no country before a show.

El Jefe: Cannot listen to country before a show.

Troy: Every time somebody, no names mentioned…

El Jefe: AARON!

Troy: We tend to suck that show.

El Jefe: I do not do that anymore. For me, there is like a 5 or 10 minute section where I do my little…

MC: The red lights not on?

Troy: Oh yeah, it's right there. (laughs)

El Jefe: For me I do my stretch, I stretch out and almost meditate. But other than that there's really nothing other than really getting together and hanging out together.

Troy: I smoke at least 3 joints.

El Jefe: There ya go. And that be it.

MC: Any final thoughts? Anybody?

Troy: PAAARTY!

Gabe: Piss on it.

Skip: When in doubt...

Grady: Get SHITTY! (laughs)

This will soon be on our .net in audio form at some point. Gracias for checkin in on us.

Thank you Mason for you help with this. You are much appreciated.

10/27/08

So the Halloween show at Fitz was everything it needed to be: hot ass chicks in costumes, beer, rockin music and great time had by all. A bunch of prizes were raffled off too! Somebody won a Halo guitar! That's pretty freakin cool. I gotta give it up to a few bands; Nocturnal Madness- ya'll brought it down early man! I appreciate all that ya'll did. They split and came back for the rest of the show, well some of the band anyway. Preciate ya! Opia- what can I say??? It's always a great time watchin ya'll play and hangin out with ya'll. If you don't know these guys (and there's only 2 of them so it's not like you gotta hunt em down) you need to. They jam! Otto's Daughter (Los Angeles) ripped it up w/ what I was told was a gothic type of heavy rock...I'm not one for labels so whatever, but they brought it! They put on a great show! And Jaqueline was a firecracker! Whew! She wore me out watchin her get into her music. Awesome! And there was Lastman. These guys need no introduction. Seriously, these guys ripped it up like you are supposed to. Last, but not least, there's Alex Lozano. Thank you for your efforts in puttin this show on. We'll be playing back at Fitz again for our next shindig on Saturday, December 13th, so bring yer ass and the rest of ya!

Day before a show and I feel like we are on our 6th of 9 lives. This life we're doin it to do it and for no other reason. There's been stories great and small that have defined this band from the jump off, but it's the music that continues to carry on. There are even a few songs we still keep around from the begining. Time will never stop and neither will our music, at least until the death of us all. I guess the media will stay around, but the music will no longer be alive as it has been. ROCK and ROLL and the Rock and Roll lifestyle is the air that we breathe, the shit that we drink and the ground that we walk on.

Tomorrow's a new day as will the next. What are you doing?

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!

3/31/08

So Gringos and others out there, it's been a while eh? We haven't disappeared off the face of the Earth yet. You can't get rid of us that easy. Man, I was reading through a few of the passeges on this page and it brings back alot of great memories, and some fucked up ones too. But I wouldn't change it for the world. No way no how. So the band's been doin its own thing for a while: Grady and Kev are playin with Daze Past. Its one kickin-ass rock and roll cover band. Troy's been tryin to get his B.U.G. project off the ground and Gabe has been workin his ass off waiting for his signature series bass to come in. It will be called the "GB Series". Sick! Whilst I've been playin my acoustic regularly and writin some country songs. Momma's Boy was the 1st one and then I Drink. Tracy's been helpin a brotha out a bunch on gettin those things workin, but this coming weekend PincheGringos is getting together to start the recording of our latest cd. Oh yeah! It's gonna be cool. Matt (Mahn Chau, Chemo for Emo, etc., etc., etc.) is helpin out again with recording the sticks. He is one badass mutherfucker! No bullshit. Well, I wanted to touch base with all you people out in virtual world to keep ya'll posted. So there ya go. Have a good one and drink one for me!

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!

1/3/07

So we've had our last show for a while. We're taken a hiatus. Come Feb we'll hopefully hook back up and get some recording done. Then, who knows what. To 'erbody that came out to the White Swan for, possibly, the last show you are appreciated. Whew! I know we all had a great time, gave some shit away and partied all night long. Right now we're doin our own things for the moment, but fear not my children there is always a silver lining.

Much love and respect to everyone who has supported us, whether yal just got on the band wagon or you've been down since 1999. Thank you.

-Aaron "Dusty" Gringo (el Jefe)

12/3/07

We're gearin up for our last big blowout of 2007 (Dec. 22nd). Then, we'll be taken a hiatus for a while, who knows how long. 1st we'll get a recording done and then we'll see what happens.

This show is going to be a great time. It's only $5 and we'll be givin some shit away. Plus the lineup is gonna rip yer head off...Asphalt Junkie, A Dream Asleep, Los de Verdad and then us at the White Swan. Check out the SHOWS tab for the info. See yal there!

-Aaron "Dusty" Gringo (el Jefe)

9/28/07

So we had our 1'st show back w/ the new drummer, Keven. He rocks his ass off! There were some technical difficulties, I mean Gabe's bass and head got shorted out by beer flyin all over the place. Sucks! Rock and Roll eh? BUT, we managed to finish the set w/ Mr. Plow lending us their bass head. Much love and thanks to those guys. They rocked the house! Man, and Wellborn Road, those guys bring it every damn time! Much love to them too. And then there's the mighty SETBACK. Those guys bring such a sense of "we'll kick yer ass, but you will enjoy it". I don't know how else to describe it. We are not slowing down a bit. October and November are all booked up. We're ready to hit the road. We'll be headin to Austin in November. Check the SHOWS tab for that info.

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Jake's! That means Richard and Jared too! Yal always make it so much fun! Oh shit! I forgot I was drinking 16oz. Keystone by the time we came on because we DRANK THEM OUT OF BEER! Well, real beer anyway! Now how many bands can say that eh?

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!

-Aaron "Dusty" Gringo (el Jefe)

8/19/07

Ayait yal, the time is finally comin. We've booked some shows and we're ready to get back at it. We can't wait to see yal at the shows. We've got a few new songs we're still workin on, but the core is still there. So keep drinkin yer whiskey & cokes, downin yer beers and takin yer shots cause we're ready to rock yer faces off again!

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!

-Aaron "Dusty" Gringo

7/16/07

The sun is dawning a new day as it always does. The PincheGringos saga will never say die. It is an engine bigger than all of us and there is no denying it. The PincheGringos are riding again and are setting our sites on a venue near you in the short future. Right now we are are shakin the cob webs out and making some new kick ass tunes. Keep yer ears to the ground and you'll hear the thunderin sound of the PincheGringos in your town.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!

-Aaron "Dusty" Gringo

5/15/07

It's great to see yal still rockin it. We're recording a 'lil EP, looking for a full-time drummer, keepin the faith ALIVE. Yeah, Matt (drums) is really helpin us through a jam. He is the shit...a musician's musician. Hope all yal make it out to the Meridian (5/19/07), it's gonna be a fuckin great show. I'm out! ROOOOOOOOCK!!!!!

-Aaron "Dusty" Gringo

4/2/07

We've had a few badass shows recently. Nothing else has changed, we've been jammin, drinkin, partying, all that rock and roll stuff. Jon's birthday went off great! He was smashed by the time he got on stage. It was great to see him in that rare form. He's such a cool dude. Wellborn Road came in and just, I don't even know how to describe it. It was a great fuckin show! Period. Carless Use have kept getting better and better. I don't know how much better you can get? They rocked it, for sure.

We're heading out of town next, Friday the 13th of April we'll be in Corpus and then Harlingen on the 14th. Mahn Chau are coming with us again to south Texas. Oh no! When that happened last time it was like a wrecking ball. It's gonna be good. I think this might be the Instigators last show. That sucks, they're a great band. But in south Texas, if you have any hair on yer nuts you are in 2 or more bands at the same time. I mean, everyone I spoke with was talking about this other band they are in, and then this other band they are in. Crazy! I only got time for Gringos. It consumes me, but yal are a rare breed! Ayait, we'll see yal soon! Keep it rockin!

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!

-Aaron "Dusty" Gringo

2/3/07

I was just reminicing and scanning through all the past entries and ya know, I've gotta be a pretty optimistic dude, or just a glutton for punishment. The band has been through some crazy, weird sh*t. Okay, just to run off a few: members who can't control their vices personally or publicly, quitters, car accidents, jail time, lies, betrayal, medical issues, okay enough. And as I read over that short list I come to realize that it seems common, and somewhat calm in comparison to some other bands I've read about. Maybe it's not such a big deal in the whole scheme of things. It's been a rough road for a brotha.

I feel like I keep saying this over and over recently, but I have 3 things in my life: family, work, and band. Each of these are at the top of the list and very close together. That's all I've got, so why not work hard to make the best of all of that?

Okay, I'm off the soapbox. Trials and tribulations, trials and tribulations. Even though the road may be cover with stones, broken glass and broken hearts, it's the only road I know. Gotta keep on truckin!

"Life's a garden, dig it"...Joe Dirt.
